MIUI ROM 2.8.17 ICS & JellyBean

I have serious problems since updating this time. I have a xiaomi one plus. Went from 2.8.10 to. 17 and the whole phone has reset. I lost all contacts, messages, settings and installed licences. Most I can put back from a back up but some stuff will be gone as the back up is not that new.
I was suffering process manager FC's upon initial install but they suddenly stopped. Everything seems to be working ok now but I am wondering why and where all that info went?
The 2nd partition on my phone had all those FC issues when I boot into it and everything is default, could it be it is not actually booting into the 1st partition?

Might be an idea to make a back up, then use the brush tool to flash both partitions with the latest FW. Obviously you will lose all data though.

Yes, that's it. However some Indian guys had stil problems with it. But the list of supported providers will be updated so the problem should be definitelly fixed in few next releases :) Anyway, I see this a very unlucky implementation as if there will be a new privider with new network code, we will have the problem again... But this is not very frequent :)

Not really every few minutes. More like every 15 minutes :p You can set it to auto kill every x amount of minutes, which will solve the problem :)

Yes, it is maybe 15 minutes :) But it is strange because I have not noticed a big different between apps preloaded in memory or started from scratch. Anyway, if this has no negative impact on battery I don't really care :)

Also, with the new task manager, we have lost access to the page where it shows all the running services in the background. I'm always running low on ram so I need to know what's eating it up.

Also, the "ring" animation on the sweep button is a absolute waste of time.

Settings > Full Settings > Apps
 
i downloaded vivo 2.8.17 rom and installed it but after restarting my phone it stays on htc logo screen! i checked the md5 of the dled file and it checks out. what the problem is?? :/

I am too getting the Status 7 error message (set_perm : some changes failed) even though I got the hotfix1 release and the md5 is also matching.

CWM > Clear Cache > Clear Dalvik Cache > Format System > Wipe Data > Install Zip > Error
I'm not sure what I did wrong?

Tried it again, same status 7 issue but with a symlink error (some symlinks failed) :(

I've looked around for some answers but I just might not be looking hard enough, does the MIUI for the Arc S run for the LT18a model? I've tried to install it but get assert errors.

Next thing I'm going to do it try a different kernel. but can't since I'm @ work so I thought I would ask here for the moment.

Apologies if this has been asked before.

We've been working on this for about 5 hours now. We hope to have a fix soon.

NOTE: This is even in the default MIUI.com ROM. Which leads me to believe they are requiring the use of their recovery (MiRecovery). Were gonna work on removing that so you can use whichever recovery you want.

NOTE2: We already fixed this for toro, maguro and crespo. So it won't be long.

Sorry to ask again..
Anyone know about MIUI and LT18a (Xperia Arc S) being compatible with each other? I know it says LT18i but I get some assert errors during installation.

unfortunately no.

MIUI is only officially availble for the LT18i

Hi, may i know how to set custom SMS ringtone? I have tried this method "Settings" --> "Sound Settings" --> "SMS Notification" and select my custom ringtone, but when i receive a SMS, the phone just vibrate only...
