Why not just extract from stock roms..?
Miui team touched nearly all apps. So strings are changed, edited removed ir added. So.. we must translate from start.

I am using stock translation of framework-res.apk for all devices without any issue...

Translation MIUIv4 to Slovak took me about 150hours...

In Slovak translation for SGS2 is fixed phone Status FC and operator choice FC... but I dont know where was that issue... :)

In my repo is all working and systemui fix included... just use them for your port... github.com/ingbrzy

We have support for localized lockscreens. I will update the dev document soon and post on the blog explaining how to setup your REPO for manifest files.

Still looking into if widgets can be localized.

@admin Could you pls tell the ppl from the translations to update the lang pack for Xperia arc S? They have a fix in theyr repo but not all of the users are skilled devs so they cant recompile the broken MIUISystemUI.apk...

That kind of question is kinda insulting.... OF COURSE WE ARE.
I know people often complain about stuff they don't even check but the instructions have always been clear on this.
didnt really mean offence by it just some people assume its an automatic transition to their language :)

I understand. Sorry for the harsh reply, it just seemed silly. Still, why is it that nobody knows why the spanish pack doesn't translate? Weird.

I never found any reason why. I'm looking at the generated APKs now and values-es is there. Even the framework one is there. Makes no sense.

i said it few post ago. the spanish repo was not pulled into the langpack, uncompresing the .apk files and looking into the res folder results in a no spanish language folder... the last translator deleted the repo and is not answering private messages. Anyways the repo is right now, but maybe some changes made in the script wich collect the xml files for translations for the last week is not looking around for the spanish repo to avoid compiling errors. I can assure you the spanish repo will be 100% updated into the langpack into about 2 weeks.

k, now i have to found why mione is bootlooping after the langpack is installed. But next week, i'm not a home right now.

Step 5a
Translating the lockscreen

As of v1.6.5 of the build scripts. You may translate the lockscreen. The lockscreen is normally located in /system/media/theme/default/lockscreen. Inside that zip file called (lockscreen) is a manifest.xml file. Simply copy that file to manifest_xx.xml (where xx is your 2 ISO code for your language).

ex: manifest_en.xml. Put this file in /extras/lockscreen/manifest_en.xml

See the Danish REPO for an example of this: https://bitbucket.org/iBotPeaches/ma-xml-4.0-danish

Sorry but thats not gonna be my way to it. Because I can't track to changes in framework-res this way. I mean they can change this files every week so I must compare all the files again and again. But the hard way is the best way when you finish the translation. Because you'll change only a few lines week-to-week.
Whatever :)

@iBotPeaches II make updates for turkish translation including miui-framework. Can you look at it? And if you can, please include that files in this week release.
And there is something I can't understand about xml files from your repo.
Sometimes $1 items in strings stated with formatted="false" sometimes not. Whats make the difference?

I released new versions of apktool that fixed the problem of needing to do that. So the system automatically does it.
