MIUI gingerbread improvements

I'm really interested about the speed and smoothness of the UI animations. Is any improvement in that regard with Ginger?

It said that they are bringing back the lockscreen tomorrow

notification pane

It seems like they changed the notification pane for the better. It now has three seperate panels that will open depending on where you drag down from the top. Only super super tiny issue is that the apps panel wont automatically open if you drag down from the right, like others will from their spots. If it did, it would be a great way to switch through apps, multi-task. If anyone has the power to let the devs know, please do.

Around the board animations in apps seem to be much smoother, but the launcher itself is laggier than it was on froyo which is a huge bummer since that's something I value greatly. I'm going to try launcher pro as well to see if its any smoother, but so far every GB rom I've tried has choppy launcher speed.

EDIT: Launcher Pro runs fantastic. This is a surprise because it wasn't so fluid when I tried it on CM7.

Some apps definitely seem to suffer though, such as rom manager and theme manager. The scrolling is way laggier. But the MIUI app is iPhone 60fps smooth!

This is all on the Droid Incredible.

my launcher is silky smooth, i think it's all kind of luck at this point. everyone seems to be getting slightly different pros and cons. some of my menus however are pretty choppy too

from what I know MIUI and CM teams share information between each other - ex. the CM7 Radio app and the notification buttons in CM7 so hopefully it can happen.

(PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG AS I WOULD HATE TO SPREAD THIS FALSE INFORMATION IF FALSE)

Well, the MIUI team takes stuff from CM from time to time, but CM rarely gets anything from the MIUI team. The MIUI team gave CM the FM radio for CM6, but that's about it. There really isn't a lot of mutual interaction between the two projects.
