With 9.9.27 and latest 9.10.10 my Mi9 is back to Widevine L3. I've seen some users have Widevine L1 and some other have L3, so looking for differences we realized fingerprint is not the same in all the devices. Mine, for example, has Xiaomi/dipper/dipper:8.1.0/OPM1.171019.011/ (L3) and other user has Xiaomi/dipper/dipper:8.1.0/OPM1.171019.011/V9.5.9.0OEAMIFA:user/release-keys (L1). We both upgraded dirty flashing rom from 9.9.27 and just youtube vanced module installed on Magisk. There is also another user with same fingerprint as me and L1 but Max number of sessions is different, all L1 have 50 and all L3 have L1.

We have compared our installations and we have no clue what could be happening.

EDIT: ROM has been reuploaded. I still have L3, but the other bugs seem to be repared.

Thanks for your work!

Hello, can someone help us? Is this a bug? A problem with Xiaomi? What should I do to solve it?
Best regards.

Another update (9.10.17) and still L3. We just wanna know if we are doing something wrong or we should do something to get L1 back. I cleanflashed this new version with no luck.

Another update. Let's see if we get back L1.

EDIT: Nope, still L3.

This is a huge problem for me too. I read somewhere that Android Q has some changes and the ways to bypass the certificate restrictions are not the same. Let's hope that a way will be found by devs in the near future. :)

Well it's definitely not Android Q, cause I have Widevine L1 on the latest Miuimix Rom and Netflix works in HD

Yes and as you see there are people that are on the same version of Xiaomi.eu (with Android 10) but this does not mean that it is not an Android 10 issue...
It is for sure case sensitive, but let's leave it to developers.

Same here.. My wifes mi 9 has L1 on 9.10.10. mine has L3 (meanwhile I updated to 9.10.24, but still L3) I wonder, if that is related to the vendor image. While my wifes mi9 couldn't even see netflix on play store the first day, suddenly the next day netflix came up and the full certification too. Btw. I have the transparent edition.

Some people on the same Xiaomi.eu version has L1 too. We dont even know if this is an issue for devs, but lets hope it is.

Do you have Magisk? Withou Magisk I had L3 too, after flashing Magisk, hiding Manager and so on, it went back to L1 and Netflix is available on the play store

I do have Magisk and manager is hidden.

Mi 9 stable doesn't pass SafetyNet and some apps thinks it's modified

Reinstall our ROM.. Seems you modified it..

Any info or tip about this weird Widevine thing?
Did you tried to factory reset and then format the phone in TWRP? I installed the last MIUI 11 beta for Mi9 by formatting everything and I got L1 (which, however, won't let me play full hd content in Twitch App. Netflix is working good)
