Hello every Redmi K20 Pro/Mi 9T Pro users!

With elements given by @LeonardoBordin from XDA Forum and https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/redmi-k20-pro-to-mi-9t-pro-conversion-patch-miui-11.53597/, here's some "all-in-one" TWRP zip packages to convert your phone's model from "Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro "to "Redmi K20 Pro".

INFO: You may want to install this patch on 20.6.4+ weekly xiaomi.eu ROM update to fix Amazon Prime HD. IMPORTANT: After patching, do not forget to clear "All app data" of Amazon Prime app, in phone's settings. ;)

== MIUI 12 boot animation ==
TWRP_Mi9TPro_to_K20Pro_MIUI_12_v1.1_Safe_Conversion.zip

- Mi logo was replaced with "Redmi" logo.
- Mi/MIUI boot animation has been replaced with "Redmi" boot animation (use: MIUI 11 boot animation).
- Mi/Redmi boot animation has been replaced with "MIUI" boot animation (use: MIUI 12 boot animation).
- Device model has been replaced as "Redmi K20 Pro".
- Camera Watermark displays "Redmi K20 Pro" (not working for Camera 4.0 / MIUI 12).

Please try and comment. :)

== Use it at your own risks (backup first) ==

Steps to follow:

Use Official or OrangeFox TWRP

1) Download one conversion patch zip file you want and put this file in root of your phone's storage.

2) Boot to TWRP Recovery.

3) Go to "Install" menu and find & select your previously downloaded zip file.

4) Do NOT tick "Reboot after installation" option!

5) Flash it.

6) After flashing, click on "Wipe Dalvik&Cache" button and do the wipe.

7) Reboot and enjoy!

;)

If you used my "Universal" patch (Redmi K20 Pro to Mi 9T Pro conversion) before, you need to update the security patch date and fingerprint build info to be able to boot.
- Install this in TWRP => TWRP_RAPHAEL_12.0.1.0_Global_ROM_info.zip

Hello Poney70,

I have xiaomi.eu v20.6.4 and your "Universal" conversion patch v1.0.1 on my Mi 9T Pro at the moment. I wish to upgrade to xiaomi.eu v20.6.11; Should I install this patch afterwards, or the patch you posted on the last update of your previous thread in order to avoid a bootloop ?

Thank you so much for your work as always.

Hello,

You can still install "Universal" patch to avoid bootloop (the new "info" patch is included in "Universal" patch).

;)

EDIT: This thread is for rebranding your phone as "Redmi K20 Pro". :)

@Atrios If you are rooted, there is a way to do all this without flashing the zip given above.
Install "MagiskHide Props" and "Busybox" from Magisk Manager and reboot.
Then open a terminal manager in your phone(install Termux from playstore if you want), open it and type the following:

su
(Allow permission)
props
2 (Force Basic Key attestation)
f (pick from fp list)

Now, around 30th one will be Xiaomi. Type that number.
Then, type the number for K20 Pro (China or India, upto you)
Then, type y, then again type y to reboot.

This will fix the watermark and fix the HD issue in Amazon Prime Video app. Best of all, you don't need to do this everytime you flash the update. As long as you just flash the update each week(along with Magisk) and not do clean flash, this will stay.

What's your current xiaomi.eu ROM version (number)?

you zip file works fine, thank you very much. my device is seen as Redmi K20 Pro but only watermark is a problem - it looks mi 9t pro
Yeah I know that... ^^
I will check what I can do to modify the camera watermark. ;)

you are the best <3 i am going to continue to follow this thread. after camera watermark solution i will install it peacefully
I have recompiled the MiuiCamera.apk for Stable & Weekly ROM versions, I don't know if it's working or not (not tested). ;)

Here is the patch to try => TWRP_MiuiCamera_MOD_K20&K20Pro_v1.0_for_xiaomi.eu_ROMs.zip (Removed - Not working...)

:)

it deleted my camera app. it is gone :( I had mi globe rom 21.1.14(same as eu beta) it makes bootloop. after that i installed eu stable 12.0.6, zip file deleted camera app
I don't really know how to successfully recompile MIUI system apps... :(

Another workaround (not tested):

Use this 'mod_device' swticher in TWRP and reboot => TWRP_xiaomi.eu_Global_~_China_'mod_device'_Switcher_v1.0.zip
(This switcher will edit the "ro.product.mod_device" prop in /system/build.prop (it will remove/add '_global' info).

Instruction:

0) Install any xiaomi.eu ROM first (yeah, really? ^^)

1) Flash my switcher in TWRP

2) Reboot your device

3) Take a photo with device watermark and check the result

IMPORTANT: If it's not working, try clearing all app data of the "MIUI Camera" app then retry step 3). :)

Please feedback if it works (or any issue). ;)

Try without clearing MIUI Camera app data first and if it's not working, try clearing data and retry. :)

May I know more detailed instruction ?
Do I need to flash first

Before the global switcher? Thanks in advance

yes yes yes it works great. camera watermark works good, it shows Redmi K20 Pro.device name is ok. and this zip file added some changes too. for example, while was calling someone, call dialer had showed me speaker and numpad symbol. but now it is written(it is not problem for me, I am just giving information to you ;) ). and in settings app my device tab was first but now mi-account is first and device info is second (it is not problem for me, too :)) ). everything is ok. thank you very much! You are the best!

Glad it worked! Okay there are little changes but if everything is working fine, that's... fine! ^^

My device keeps restarting so I revert back to global. Anyway it works but my device keep restarting so I revert back to global .

All versions are fine, v1.0 is the minimal version and v1.1 change the boot logo and bootanimation. ;)
Mhh I flashed the minimal patch and now I have a k20 pro, however Amazon still won't show hd (fresh install). I remember when xiaomi.eu was a k20pro by default I could watch HD videos so what am I missing?
