Magisk 23.0 / Canary not installed after patching

I just upgraded to Android 12 21.10.22 Fastboot and I can't install Magisk. After I patched and flashed the boot.img Magisk shows Installed "N/A". Anyone knows how to fix because I heavily rely on Magisk to be working for my Banking Apps

EDIT: I forgot I had Magisk frozen before the update to bypass the Check of my Banking App, but now I can't unfreeze Magisk since I don't have root anymore.

EDIT 2: Fixed everything. I'm retarded. Can be closed

did you do all the 4 lines or without the set_active a bith times

fastboot %* set_active a
fastboot %* flash boot_ab images\boot.img (replace "images\boot.img" with the actual path where the patched boot image file is placed
fastboot %* set_active a
fastboot %* reboot


i think the correct way is

reboot in fastboot
fastboot devices to check
fastboot flash boot path+filename
no error?
fastboot reboot

Using latest weekly ROM. I've tried several canary builds I have currently and even latest stable of magisk. No errors when patching and flashing boot image. Magisk app says that it is not installed no matter what I've tried.

On A11 I had no issues at all.

Are you sure there is no other hidden magisk manager leftover somewhere?

I forgot that manager was hidden. After removal of old app it's the same. I cant find any leftovers from old installation at this point. Reinstalled manager from scratch and still can't manage to fix this

Just have to make sure that if you use Magisk hidden app to restore it to original before updating. This will save all headaches.

It depends how you have named it when hiding. Interesting part starts when you have no idea since the name of the package actually is totally random. Yo have to look for package with weird name.

Check the size and the symbol, there should be two apps with around 33-35 MB, the hidden one and the real one, this could give you a hint.
