Sorry for the noob question, but I just cant seem to get it to work. I keep getting FC on reboot
I flashed extended settings, put this zip on my SD card then through CWR flash this zip...is that correct?
When I do this it just force closes my launcher

hey Mattsd23, ok first and foremost i need a little info from you so we can troubleshoot your issue

what Device you using?
what Version of Miui is installed on your device?
What version of the Mod did you download and install?

also verify that you followed the steps below:
1. Remove all icons from the Dock

2. verify that you have enough space on the last screen for the grid change if you have all your screens filled with Apps when the grid changes your launcher will FC and if you check the "report" it will show that your grid alignment is null, IE the icons are spacing beyond the screen.

3.Verify that all Applications are restore via backup PRIOR to MOD installation. also never restore your layout/theme via backup when using mods that affect the launcher.

4 Verify that Both Extended settings/Launcher Mod are the same version as your MIUI. mixing and matching can cause instability
Example: 1.11.4 Extended, 1.10.28 Miui.1.11.4 Launcher = FC

Is there any way to make launcher compatabile with different lcd density? I love to have smaller density (240 is default, I like around 200) but launcher doesn't look good when I change lcd density. Everything else is more or less ok. TIA

no. well i'm sure theres a way but the trial and error and time i'd have to invest is not logical for something i do in my spare time.

you would have to edit the alignment of grid icons in the .xml file. while having your build.prop set to 200 for trial and error. expect plenty of FC's and miui reflashes Good luck i hope you get it set up for your personal tastes/

thanks a bunch for these launcher mods! using the Launcher 5x4 WHS on the new Vicious-MIUI and it's working great.

The only issue is that when trying to move apps on the screen, you can't do the slick "holding the app with one finger while swiping screen with another" to move the app to a different desk panel. it just says "move failed". You can however, just move the app to the edge of the screen and that will move it, so not a big issue...

odd that your experiencing this issue, i just tested it myself without issue.(4x5 nhs) maybe it's an issue with the 5x4 gridsize, anyone else experience this?

that's bizarre...i just reflashed the 5x4 WHS mod and it now works 100% correct. don't know what happened the first time, since i used the exact same procedure to flash the mod.

oh well. to reiterate, the slick "holding the app with one finger while swiping screen with another finger" to move the app DOES work.

When I choose launcher settings it keeps FCing..... :/
I have (must have) Andys ESettings mod flashed before, but without launcher.apk, I removed it from zip, because it f**** up widgets layout on 540x960 (Sensation) homescreens.
The only way is, that andy build somehow this 5x4 layout in his ESettings mod.

With qhd gridsize is ok but there is another problem with widgets.

As Boystuff is obviously snowed under at work. Here's a 5x4 No Hotseat Launcher. In theory anyway it should support qHD as well as normal size screens but as I don't have a qHD device this is untested.. It should also support Multi-DPI settings.

Thanks Andy, it's working flawlessly (LG o2x), it's been a "long" time I haven't tried this mod..
