New Help with SMS Bug

Hello,
I have a serious privacy Bug with Messaging app on my Redmi 4x (Global beta 9.5.16):
here is what happens with some of my contacts:
- I select a contact
-write a message
-click SEND
==> automatically, others contacts are added to the recipiants list, and the Text is sent to the wrong person
(can't send a video screen record to show you )
Any idea on this problem?

I've just flashed the stable ROM.. The problem is still there.. With other contacts
I don't know what to do

You can try:

Open Contacts app, open settings ( 3 dots upper right)
Settings/More/Rebuild index data.

If that doesn't help, try clearing all data for the Contacts app, and then restoring your contacts again.

From Google backup, Mi Cloud backup, or from the backup file you should have taken.

Unfortunately I tested these steps :
Delete all contacts data / resync
Reflash new ROM beta- > stable
Nothing fixed the problem
See screen capture. This message was intended to go to only the 3rd in the list. I don't know where this list come from

Then the only thing I can suggest us clearing all data for the Message app.

You could also try installing some third party messaging app and see if there is any difference.
But I don't myself have any good suggestions.

By the way, you have checked the contacts you have problems with to see that there are not several telephone numbers included by mistake?

Another thing I forgot to mention is that you should look at which source you have chosen for contacts in:

Settings/Configure contacts lists

(in Settings for the Contact app)

I'm not saying the problem is necessarily there, but you might find something "interesting".

I for example have 10 possible sources of contacts to choose from there.

I have no more suggestions, sorry.

There is a thread here explaining how to make a logcat with adb.
You have to do it while the phone is connected to a pc.
If you already understand adb, good, otherwise you have some learning to do

There may be some other ways to get a logcat or a bug report, Igor will have to tell you what he needs and what to do.
