New Google messages doesn't work

Google messages doesn't receive messages even when it's set as default app. I'm on stable HyperOS release 1.0.8.0

Check the permissions of the Messages app:
settings > privacy > permission manager > SMS

Hey, I see you had the same issue as me, I am unable to restore backup to Google Messages. I am in Permission Manager and I only seeSMS, no Messages permission. Can you help me with this?

EDIT: I just managed to do it with uploading a backup of my system (I had backup of messages via Swift backup), restoring it to Mi Messages, deleting all data of google messages and then reloading it again. It loaded all messages.
