Doubts about updating

I have a very old version of Xiaomi.eu (9.12.12, december 2019). I didn't update my phone because I heard of problems related to encrypted storage or similiar. But now my phone is suffering of battery draining and I would solve these problems updating my phone. So my question is: does the Xiaomi.eu still encrypt the phone/replace the orange fox etc etc…?

I assume you're on Redmi Note 7, reading through the threads I can tell you that the encryption issue has been solved.

You may update but make sure to select the disable Force Encryption under OTA Settings in Orangefox.
