Everyone is aware of this problem.Its not xiaomi.eu problem. Its latest China beta problem where xiaomi pull update.

Download and install this zip in TWRP => TWRP_xiaomi.eu_Fix_MIUI_Contacts_and_Phone_apps.zip

Then reboot and thanks me later!

This fix was not tested on Weekly ROM (only Stable), if the author want to test: Download and install this zip in TWRP => TWRP_xiaomi.eu_Fix_MIUI_Contacts_and_Phone_apps.zip

Then reboot and feedback please.

The fix works, tested on Mi 9 20.10.22

For now, you can only modify system partition with a Magisk Module on all devices shipped with Android 10 (and greater).

EDIT: Also I don't know if my patch is working on Android 11.

TWRP can't modify the "/system" partition of your device, because your phone was shipped with Android 10 = New "Dynamic partitions" system.

Other way to modify "/system" partition is to use Magisk => https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/icon-miui-11-12-global-icon-pack-flasher.55423/post-568419
