I have another problem. Sometimes, when I received a call, I cannot hear the voice of the caller. It is silent.
Any of you experiencing the same issue? How to resolve it?
Thank you.

when you use a custom rom(it means aosp or aosp based) than flash 4.1.1 aosp first then flash your fav. rom. its because 4.1.1 aosp rom for mi2s include a radio that get the voice and sound works on calls on aosp based roms (4.1.1, 4.2.2 and 4.3 roms).

Have you dropped your phone? I've got this problem before because I accidentally dropped my phone face down.

Strangely, the problem fixed itself when I accidentally dropped my phone again.

This may happen from time to time. Its usually network related.

I use my phone for work and take over 100 calls a day sometimes.

I am not using any other rom except MIUI multilang from here.

I did drop the phone for the first time recently but the problem happened before that. When I just bought the phone, I already experienced it. I thought it was because of the rom, and probably would be fixed in the future.

Are you saying you experienced the same problem using the same phone?
I dont have such problem in my old phone.

I've had this happen on multiple devices. Usually its network related in my experience.

Today, I had this problem again. I cannot hear the caller on the phone.
When I go back to home, and I call house phone, it is the same thing. The receiver cannot hear me and likewise the other way round.
I had opened up the case and cleaned the sim card. But still the same problem.

What is the problem? Network? Rom? Faulty handphone hardware?
Please advice me what to do thank you.

Maybe.
Because i have restarted my phone many times and it doesn't seem to fix the problem.
When a new multilang was released yesterday, I applied it and it is good now.
I believe when installing the update, it will clear the cache too right?

I dont know what was the real problem.
I used multilang 3.8.23 previously. Now I'm on latest. The problem doesn't exist at the moment.

Probably because cache was wiped on the new install... Or because you are in an area with a good network signal.

It is not working now again, as I'm writing.
Tested environment: calling from handphone at home to house phone.
: handphone on the left, house phone on the right ear.

Old nokia phone: I can hear voice coming through both phones.
M2s: both phones are dead silent.

I'm quite sure this is no longer a network issue as the old phone is working fine.
Please help.

Redbean,

I got this problem too. It appears randomly.
I can hear the caller when I turn on the speaker or using headphone.
Reboot the phone doesn't help.
I contacted iBuyGou.com, where I bought the phone for this problem.
But I don't think they have the solution...
Will flashing the ROM help?

At last resort I may reset to factory settings...

Information of my mobile:
Model Number: MI2SC
Android Version: 4.1.1 JRO03L
MIUI Version: MIUI-JLB21.0

When you said factory setting, what is it? I would like to try it, since I dont have a solution for this problem yet.

Redbean,

I find this very frustrating.
My problem of no sound appears randomly and I always need to bring earphone with my phone.
I'm corresponding with iBuyGou.com, where I bought my phone and see if they have solution to this problem.

But I might discover a work-arround.
Last time when I using earphone to make a call.
When the call ends, the music player start playing with hard sounds.
That is strange, because I haven't use it before the call.

I went to music player and exit it using the menu of the player.
This seems to solve the problem. I do't know how they are related.
I have now sound on my phone.

Could you please do the same and see if it works for you too?
I'm very curious.

I will try it but not now. I'm getting a new sim card this week(changing line provider), the old sim card has 0 credit :)

Redbean,

Did you try it already?
I did it again and it seems to work for me.

In the meanwhile I updated to MIUI-JLB22.0 and hope that the sound problem wouldn't occur again.

iBuyGou support told me to do a recovery using volume key and power button.
When the problem reoccurs I will try it.

There is no music player app open when I make a call.
There is no dialing tone.
But when the receiver's phone ring, and answer, it is silent.
I dont have a handsfree to try. But I do have headphone for music.

Btw, what is that MIUI JLB22.0? Isn't it the same as weekly MIUI update?

Redbean,

I got the same problem as yours. No dial-tone and no sound during the call.

I also don't have Music Player open.
Please go to Music Player and EXIT it using the menu of Music Player and see if it helps.
Please try and let me know if it helps.
If it's not working for you then I can send you the instruction given by iBuyGou support to do a recover.

It does help me to solve my problem (2 times already). Even when I not using Music Player.
I don't know what the link is between the 2. But it helps me.

Version information, you can find in Settings>About phone.
This is the place to update the software.
