Weekly or stable ? Can you tell me something more please ? Now a friend has global rom, but is not satisfied, low responsive to command to open app.
True, I installed a last beta and it really improved a lot! It took a while, but xiaomi heard us, I hope they do not get worse again!
The camera in 8.9.6 actually appears to be much improved, especially regarding the image quality at low light. I wouldn't say it is as good as it was in the last incarnations of MIUI 9, but this is hard to say with certainty. But for the time being, I am happy with the improvements that came in 8.9.6 (although I wonder why these important improvements are hardly ever mentioned in the change logs).
I also do not know yet compared to miui 9, I could not test, I think it lacks some quality adjustments in general, but it has already improved a lot and at least the changes are happening, it is bad it took so long, I hope more improvements come more often now.
This is very true, they totally hide the change logs, it is difficult to know any changes in quality like this.
ois are not the problem, works in all roms... the problem is the image quality and the other problem are the camera2 api not enabled in miui 10 and oreo with this damned phone...... -.-"
Camera is pretty much the same for me on 8.9.6 and global stable 9.6.1.0. i would even say that htt works better in this version and potrait on front actually exists. Colours also seems to be better in my opinion.

Not for me, I'll take MIUI 10 ROM for any MIUI 9 one. Only camera is a bit worse, but everything else (especially RAM management) is much better.
It does, look for any smartphone that has no OIS, the level of shakiness is waaay worse. It still won't help much in long exposure scenarios, but at least it would help in most low light situation.
Looks like now they have teams dedicated for each device, therefore different weekly target for each as well. Only a couple of devices (I recon 3 or so) has this 60fps, even in some the quality is no-no.
Yes, I admit that I have little to complain about the current camera, however, we have already seen here what the camera of mi note 3 is capable of, so I still think it can improve, especially in night shots and stabilization.
And there are some things that still annoy me on the camera and it seems that xiaomi has never paid attention, such as the lack of front-facing video camera mirroring and the lack of a noise treatment on the footage.
Has anyone already checked image quality of the camera app of 8.9.20? I am currently quite happy with the quality in 8.9.6, so I don't want to ruin it again.

Looks similar to my eyes. In low light (<10 lux) high ISO is used to compensate lighting, noisy image but sharpness and details are retained as much as possible. In 15-20 lux it (still) produces nice looking image that makes HDR looks overexposed. Shutter speed is a bit slow, though. Note thta auto HHT is enabled.
I'm happy with 8.9 20. Best miui10 camera quality in my opinion. Don't need api2 anymore.
In comparison with my wife's mi note 3 with MIUI 9 8.4.26 it's first MIUI 10 which can keep up with MIUI 9, especially in night scene. HDR is even better now.
You have to delete first cache and settings in camera app.
