BAIDU ROM for MI2/MI2S

Changelog:
1. development based Baidu ROM 37 version (Android 4.2)
2. supports millet millet 2 and 2S (not supported by Telecom version)
3. supporting the brush into the system one or system two (for systems require double clear)

earlier versions machine repair faithful feedback questions:
1. repair and use a flashlight after Caton off without responding
2. repair video recording (audio) when only the first few seconds of a voice problem
3. repair problems breathing light display
4 repair battery Time display is not the right question
5. repair brush machine, SD card content can not access problems

I must admit that they have done a great JOB... Keep it up guys...

Bugs:
1. could Not Mount the SD Card
2. shutdown must Buckle Battery, then to enter the system

Hope someone here would try this & give a full review of its performance & Battery life before i do !

Hmmm It looks like a themed MIUI. Do you know if it's also not open source? CM based?

Yes, Even i fell for that & Installed ! Surprise surprise .... No SD card mounted ! only your internal memory , which is 4GB in my case ! WTF !!! :eek: Changing my ROM to LOSP Latest edition Immediately !

Even i thought the same , but we are wrong... It is from Baidu... competeting company for MIUI & moreover it is based on 4.2.2 unlike MIUI ( 4.1.1 ;) ) & it has very good UI, but lacks SD card mounting .. what a shame ! Battery life is just ok, i think more optimisation needs to be done regarding this & SD card mount. Fingers crossed & waiting for the future releases & watching their thread for more !

Even i thought the same , but we are wrong... I think the sdcard is mounted. It just won't show in the "Storage" page.When i plugged it into my pc.. the internal storage aka sdcard shows up. Took a screenshot and it does save in it. File Manager shows the sdcard aswell + if you press menu and select capacity info it will show you the rest of the gb missing in the storage info page.

but you can't access the SD card from within the OS ! what is the use of alternative access to storage ?
i could see that in recovery & in file manager also ! but,
 
It does. In fact while testing the ROM, baidu apps created a lot of folders in the sdcard. Also downloaded apps such as Titanium Backup works as it should everything is running as it should aswell utilizing the sdcard normally. Although i remember "userdata_moved" while repartitioning the partitions using http://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/mi2s-extending-size-of-storage-partition.21391/. Not sure "userdata_moved" has anything to do with it but anyone else want to test the ROM for a second opinion?

But, i cant see SD card in any file manager... Which File Manager are you using bro ?
I want to try this ROM & explore further... I just installed & the moment i saw no SD card mounted, i uninstalled it...
How about the Wifi connection quality & is there any call disturbance with or without Headphone usage as we have encountered in 4.3 & 4.2 CM versions except M1cha's !
Pls put your review when u r free about this ROM in brief... i am waiting for your results before i flash this again & make it a regular ROM....
Thanks in advance... I am abou to post one more ROM which is very smooth & very battery friendly... It is a russian MIUI with lot of tweaks... I am looking for English translation method.. once i am successful in doing that i will post a new thread about that ROM also.... i think you should try that ROM also ! very smooth !;)
 
@manohar I was using the default file manager that came with the rom. Although it's not shown in the storage page as mentioned before, but it is there (Note: I did partitioning earlier to expand the system size before i did the test. In the process i encountered "userdata_moved" mounted but not "userdata" so i went ahead to unmount it to repartition 26 and 27 and i have not seen "userdata_moved" again.) After the re-partition i went ahead to boot up the rom and everything work as normal except the storage page which not showing the sdcard size. Not to say you have to re-partition, it's just that i did not perform initial test before i went ahead with the partitioning.

So far the rom performance is superb and it has more control over you apps and the system apps with the built in control system.

Auto Startup Apps
Built in settings located under Settings > Apps> Auto Startup Apps which allow you to control what apps should automatically start when the system boots up (Hope i got this right). Disabled most of installed apps and some of the native apps to get rid of those that i do not usually use. See "The Battery" cause i think this has got a little to do with the battery saving.

The Battery
The battery life on this rom is the greatest of all roms that i have tried. Left the device alone while i went to bed at somewhere around 53% (it was 6am at that time and i couldn't bother to put it to charge anymore), after 8 hours of sleep the battery went down to 47% thinking to myself wow! only 6%? I was quite amazed with the result but sadly i forgotten to take a snapshot before i plugged it into charger. As seen my post earlier i'd provided a screenshot when the device is charged 100% and after 4 hours of minimal youtube videos and checking the mails it used up only 8% which normally it should have consumed 15% or more. Not sure about you guys but the battery life for this rom to me is amazing.


Traffic Monitoring
A standard issue traffic monitoring system similar to the MIUI version but it looks cooler although you are forced to set one of the China's mobile operator to finish up with the data limit settings but it's no big of a deal. What i find most appealing is the traffic compressing feature while you are on data to save your bandwidth with a lower compressed quality pictures while browsing. I have yet to notice any difference, maybe those who do care about their bandwidth might feel the difference.

Above is the most observed features by me. The Wifi connecting is stable and i have not encountered any disconnection or lags or whatsoever with it since i think it is based on CM with a modified MiHome launcher. So far i can only comment on these cause i have not made much calls with it yet to know for sure if there is any call disturbance. Video's and music's played without any problem and all the apps within the rom works like it should except there is no FM Radio as mentioned by @vagyula.

To sum it up i am very impressed with the rom like how MIUI did every friday. :) Qualify to be a daily use rom. I'll wait for the russian rom to be translated. I can read a little bit of chinese that is why i will have no problem with not translated chinese roms. *i'm chinese :p not born in China*

Here is the ROM i was talking about... but after hours of scratching my head & searching the internet, i couldn't able to find a solution for translating Russian ROM to English ROM... to be precise, i couldn't succeed in adding Multilanguage support for that ROM..

Hi Mark, should i delete this thread ? I am no where claiming that this is my hard work & i am not asking anything in return for doing this..
Just to help fellow forum members, i posted it in english by posting pics & content from miui.
& you know by now who is the author of this ROM.... this guy leggy is claiming that i should not have used the pics & ROM link here...
Indirectly i am popularising his uploads & links... i am not getting anything & i am not expecting anything for doing this also....
Why is he acting so crazy ?
I dont have any problem if you can change his name instead of my name in this thread... I am OK with it...
I just want to help people here who want to try with different ROMs....

Pls thank the original developer of this ROM... They have done so much hard work & spent hours together in bringing good ROMs for our devices.... Hats off to the Devs...
