Xiaomi redmi note 13 pro - "Notification effects" problem

When the "Notification Effects" option is enabled, on a missed call, message, Viber, etc., the screen is expected to pulsate in a selected light - blue, red, other color, clock, etc. to remind you that you have a missed message/call. However, no matter what setting I choose the screen flashes for about 10 seconds or more and doesn't come on until I wake it up and only then can I know that someone has been looking for me. This makes the function pointless. Even if I enable the "Always on display" feature, the end result is exactly the same. Where am I wrong? I want the screen to pulse when someone has searched for me.
