Xiaomi piston earphones

Hi everyone.

I'm sorry to just register and immediately create a thread like this but I don't have much time. I really hope someone can help me out on this and don't know who else to ask for something this specific.

I recently ordered myself a pair of Xiaomi piston earphones through Aliexpress as they had some good reviews and looked absolutely amazing for the price. I had to wait pretty long for them to arrive and was happy when they finally did. However upon testing them they didn't work. I was really disappointed. I tried them on my Jiayu g3s, laptop, old samsung phone and cheap tablet, they didn't work on either. So I sent a message asking for a solution to the seller. He refused to refund of course, claiming the piston earphones are specifically made for Xiaomi phones and therefor can't possibly work on any other phone or device. This is nonsense for me, isn't a 3.5mm jack universal? Not to mention they don't even work on my computer and other sellers (who sell the exact same earphones) guarantee compatibility with a range of other phones including my jiayu g3s. So I escalated the dispute as the seller did not co-operate in any way. So they asked me to record a video where I show it doesn't work, so I did. Now the Admin asks me to record a video within 3 days where I show that they don't work on a Xiaomi device, which I don't have. So now to 'proof' I am correct, I need evidence to show piston earphones work on other devices. I searched youtube and blogs hoping they would test them but all they do are unboxing videos.

I know that it isn't a whole lot of money for these earphones but I'd still like to have it back as I had to wait a long time, only to be disappointed. It's also a personal thing as I'd be looked down upon as a liar if I can't provide evidence, something I'd really like to avoid. So can anyone please record a simple video showing their piston earphones also work on a phone or device other then a Xiaomi phone? I would be really really thankful.

I can't help but it's frankly ridiculous for them to say they'd only work on a xiaomi phone!
I fully get how annoying this kind of response from seller is, good luck

I've ordered from ibuygou just a few days ago, so probably I won't have them in time to record a video. But I will try to ask for it in a Spanish forum where I know a guy that just wrote a review.

If you buy something from aliexpress expect fakes.

If you have bad quality crafting like A pictures then its fake.

An user from other forum has confirmed that they of course works on other smartphones, but I don0t think he can make a video.
Maybe you should send some private messages to any user of the forum that has used them.
And please let us know where you buy it, to no rely on that store.

Sigh, I tried what I could.

Firstly I tried stating yet again that earphones should be universal and that the piston earphones should work on other devices. When I tried to add 'evidence' to the complaint however, the option simply wasn't there. Meaning I had not 3 days but only 2 days of providing evidence as the 'case specialist' as they would call it is already processing it, a day early. Not only is this even more frustrating but it's really really annoying too.
Secondly, I contacted Aliexpress support directly. I was actually really surprised by how polite and helpful they are. their e-mails are fast, polite and well structured something I didn't expect. They say they added a memo to the case that I still wish to provide evidence and the case specialist should see this, so hopefully everything has not been in vain.

Yeah, I really watch whatever I buy from there. Most of everything regarding storage is absolutely fake, so I avoid things like that at all cost. That they would go to the extent of making fake earphones baffles me. I personally can't see much difference between mine and the fake ones, as the differences are so minimal but I can't say for sure they are fakes.

Anyways, thanks a lot for all the help. I'll keep you updated if something changes but I don't think I'll see my money again. Damn shame.

Hi Gordan,
The Xiaomi phones have a 3.5mm port similar to iphone. So it will work with iphone.. Can You try with any other Android phone like a HTC or Sony phone and say if it works?? Would be helpful.
