Hello everyone! I installed ROM by following the instructions on this site. ROM version xiaomi.eu_multi_MI8_9.1.24_v10-9 then the language selection window appeared and so on, but at the end I was asked to enter a password that was not clear, from the account Mi it cannot be as they are asked to enter numbers. I thought that this password is from my phone or SIM card, but they are both wrong. More in the photo. Help me please. Thank!
The images is large, so i posted them into Imgur:

I tried to pull out a SIM card and try without it from WiFi, disable WiFi and try only with a SIM card, disconnect the Internet completely, but in the last version, they ask me to either insert a SIM card or connect to WiFi another option is simply not there. I also tried to skip Google copying. As a result, I was still asked to enter a password.

It is the password creation step for your phone protection.
SO, YOU enter the pw number you want and you confirm it after.
Simple.
Just keep it in mind.

the pin code is the same as when you setup fingerprint unlock etc.

From what I remember I set an alphanumeric password.
What can I do with a numeric keyboard?

Obviusly I can't remember my password. What are my options?
This is a new phone and I did not activate the developer mode before the wipe.

You Can't set alpha numeric when you set the password pin security when adding a lockscreen key lock. It is numerical only!

It is want your google password or the last pin you used on lockscreen because you want to restore a backup from an other device.
I think thats happened with me too.
Your welcome

You can setup as a new phone without restore from anyother device.

Probably I used a numeric lock pin in the first place, and I switched to alphanumeric one after. Now I am stuck because I don't remember the first PIN I set and the phone has not the developer mode activated and I cannot upload a fresh ROM.
The PC Suite does want me to connect the phone in "normal" mode, thing I cannot do without the PIN I forgot.

I need an advice as I do not want to throw my phone to the trash :-(

It is the first thing I tried because I have no data to recover (I use iPhone and now I want to discover Android universe).
I tried both transfer and not transfer but both options bring me to the "confirm your password" step

If you can put the phone into fastboot mode, and your bootloader is unlocked, then you you can try flashing TWRP.
From within TWRP you can then delete the lock files containing the lock code.
If you can find them.

If your bootloader is locked, you can try fastboot flashing an official fastboot ROM with miflash.

I downloaded the tools and the ROM from the official forum.
When flashing I got this :
Capture1.PNG

I tried to unlock my device (applied for unlock and use the official tool several days ago) and get this message :
Capture2.PNG

From my cloud account, I can see the device is attached (Mi MIX 3) but offline :

Capture3.PNG

I feel like I buy a phone that can be used only once... it is really disappointing.
Can someone please help me solving my problem?

Thanks in advance.

I gave you the wrong advice as to being able to flash a fastboot ROM with a locked bootloader, sorry - it's been such a long time since I did this.

What you can do is "local flash" an official recovery ROM with a locked bootloader.

But if you can do this without being able to boot the current system I don't know, possibly from within MI recovery.

Here is the official instruction:

https://en.miui.com/a-232.html

But this likely will not help get rid of the password, even if successful.

I don't have any more ideas just now.

Thanks a lot for spending time on my problem.
I gave my phone to colleague and I will pray now :-/

I am disappointed in the end.
I tried to switch from Apple to Android and end with this problem... Probably it is my fault not choosing the right manufacturer (I saw it is easier with other phones).
My willing for change is decreasing a lot after this experience.

I found some advice "on the internet somewhere" that doing a factory reset from the Mi recovery will remove any locks.

This was not official advice, so I'm not sure it should work.

Good luck!

Tried that already but you need to start the phone in a "normal way" first and I am still tuck with this numeric password :-/
It is an endless loop!

In some older version of MIUI if you put in the wrong password too many times (4-20?) you could get a dialogue to unlock your phone via your Google account or Mi account.

That possibility is supposedly removed now, but you might try.
