Upgrade Rom: Root & Unlock

Hi guys,

Can someone please clarify: is it absolutely necessary to root and unlock bootloader to install Xiaomi.eu 7.5.2 rom? Is there any way to temporarily use TWRP to install it?

It all worked for mi4c, hence the question.

No root needed.. Just unlock bootloader by fastboot oem unlock..

then confirm unlocking, then
fastboot format data
then
fastboot reboot

Less problems after such sequence.
