Touchscreen stops working briefly

My touchscreen stops responding to touch for the last 4-5 weeks (i am updating each week to the new rom version) like 2-3 times per day.

Phone seems to work just fine and the touch buttons work too but touchscreen is not. Completely zero response to touch.

If i press the power button and immediately reopen the phone, everything works again!..

Any thoughts if this is hardware or software releated?

My phone still freezes with the touchscreen.

I experience the same problem since a few weeks with my Mi2s.
Don't have a solution yet...

I run the newest ROM from WIUI (kitkat) now and the problem is gone. This must be a software problem..

same thing happens with my screen using MIUI, but with kitkat WIUI and Mokee (also kitkat) the problem hasn't showed up.
I would recommend to use one of those roms and see if that fix the issue.
