Stuck on Redmi logo

Hello, basically after 3 years of using Redmi note 5 without any problems I just ran into serious one. When I was on google maps phone suddenly froze so I had to do a hard reset. Now it is stuck on boot screen and only fastboot mode is accessible.
Version: Global version/official rom MIUI 12
Problems:

• Recovery mode not working/fastboot only
• Bootloader locked and can't unlock it via MI unlock tools as I get this message: "current account is not bound to this device"

Probably the only option is to flash the device but I can't because of locked bootloader. I read something about flashing through EDL mode - is this my only option now?

Nothing to do here, you are on stock rom.
Just GOOGLE for "Xiaomi EDL account " in order to get any support for clean flash.
