Just choose your ROM of choice: Global, Xiaomi.eu, Developer or Stable, China or Global.

Hello,

After flashing Xiaom.eu Stable v8.2.28, I am stuck on boot Mi logo.
I have let the phone in that boot Mi logo state for half an hour and nothing happened.

Full story:
- I received the phone today;
- It came with the Global Stable v8.2.2.0.
- Tried to associate my Mi account to my phone and got an error "86006 [Chinese characters]";
- Found the solution in this post though the XiaomiTool program;
- As recommended, I flashed Global Developer v7.7.7 through XiaomiTool;
- Boot into the ROM and associated my account to my phone succesfully;
- Unlocked my bootloader;
- Flashed the official Chinese Stable ROM v8.2.28 though Mi Flash;
- Booted the ROM;
- Came back to fastboot;
- Flashed TWRP official image v3.1.1-1 through fastboot (flash and boot instructions);
- Flashed Xiaomi.eu Stable v8.2.28;
- Wiped Data, Cache and Dalvik cache;
- Rebooted;
- Remained stuck on Mi logo.

I have tried downloading ROMs, checked MD5 and flashed official Global Stable v8.2.2 ROM, but after flashing TWRP it seemed like the official ROM did not boot. Flashed again TWRP and it all booted. Flashed Xiaomi.eu ROM and did not boot.

Am I missing something?
Does any one know some bug or fix for this device regarding a similar situation?

Thank you for the quick response.

But, I am afraid I am missing something...

After unlocking the bootloader, the device initiates the rebooting process on its own (the script must have a reboot order).
I stopped the reboot process and re-entered fastboot mode.
Flashed and booted into TWRP.
As I am in TWRP, I am not able to copy files from my desktop into the device.
I also noticed that the name of the folders are not the usual ones.

Are you able to copy the required files to your device prior to booting into TWRP ?

I tried that with the same result.
Flashing the v2 TWRP has this effect.

The file is there, although the naming and extension is altered.

Also I noticed the TWRP does not save changes.
It boots with minimum brightness and has I increase it, it do not save my changes.

I believe that the problems you are experiencing are due to the device being encrypted.....

It did everything for me.

I am a manual guy, very used to do the things the hard way, but this tool has done everything I needed for me, and with a better result.

Why did you flash the official Chinese Stable after unlocking it? I'm waiting for the 72 hours to unlock my bootloader and then I want to flash the xiaomi.eu ROM. Currently I have the dev global ROM, so can I flash TWRP on it?

I always flash the official ROM prior to the Xiaomi.eu ROM, in order to get a clean phone.
This happens because it is a fastboot ROM, and flashes the partition table, all partitions and erases every junk that may have been added by third party resellers.
I achieve this by selecting "Clean all" on the Mi Flash Tool, on the bottom right of the window.

If you want a Developer Xiaomi.eu ROM, you should flash a China Developer fastboot ROM.
If you want a Stable Xiaomi.eu ROM, you should flash a China Stable fastboot ROM.
I say China because Xiaomi.eu ROMs are based on the China ROM build.

if not you have to wipe your phone each upgrade

After flashing ROM in TWRP, reboot in fastboot, and type:

fastboot erase userdata

Then just reboot your phone and it should be ok

Do this only if you are stuck, and be careful it will erase all data on your storage)

You forgot one very important step:
1st time in TWRP you must format Data partition (unfortunately all user data will be lost)
After this reboot again into TWRP and flash ROM
Wipe Cacha / Davlik and reboot system
That should do the trick.
