Invalid (pocof1) notch hide option missing.

The option to hide the notch is missing from the full screen display settings, but can still be seen (not accessed) by searching in the settings app.

It's not missing. You can't hide the notch on Pie devices yet. We don't know if Xiaomi plans to fix this for Pie at all.
It has been clearly answered under "Known Issues / Frequently Asked Questions".
