Options To Update

Hi guys,

I'm currently using MIUI 8.0.50.0. I haven't updated my phone. Never. I just wanted to check that it was ok after some months of use to not lose the guaranty just in case. And also this version brings a lot of virus and it's quite annoying.

If I want to update from this version to some ROM with latest Android do I need to update maybe to some older version first maybe?

What is the best room for a Mi4C?

I think you run a Miui based rom, modified by the reseller.

You should have changed that rom from day 1.

Here is a list of roms that I tried and are stable.

MIUI 7.1.6.0 Stable;
MIUI 6.11.3 Developer Xiaomi. eu rom
MIUI 6.12.22
CM 13.1
RR 5.8.1
RR 5.8.2 [need Nougat framework]

I would suggest you try 6.12.22 first.

Probably but I could lose my guaranty then, right?

Is not that one older than I've got right now? I shouldn't go to latest Android?

It depends. Some retailers accept official roms from en.miui.com.

But yes, installing a custom recovery and custom rom voids your warranty.

6.12.22 is newer. If you want the last Android build you have to upgrade from 6.12.22 anyways via updater app.

You can't find it there because it is not stable release. It is a weekly rom release.

I can't also find on that link the one you suggested (6.12.22)
A weekly release is ok? Wouldn't be better a stable one?

6.13.22 is weekly too. In my humble opinion they are better than stable releases.

Ok, I'll download the latest weekly one for my device on that link then.

I'm following the tutorial and I need to install TWRP via Fastboot mode. The link has all of these versions:
