It seems that currently unlocking is currently disabled for the Xiaomi 5X. This is due to an "Upgrade in bootloader security" as they are working on trying to fix the hacked bootloader issue, so this should only be a temporary situation. Be patient, in China it's holiday until 6 October, so it might take some time still.

I'd suggest you try to unlock again in the (hopefully near) future.
