How to remove my Mi account from the mobile phone?

Hi,
I accidentally removed through web browser my Xiaomi Account without logging out from my phone.
Now when I go to Settings > Mi Account the phone asks for the password of the account that I deleted (see attached image)
If I try to login with my old Mi account information on my phone, I get a message saying that the account no longer exists and I have to create a new one. I created a brand new account but I cannot bind it to the phone.
I contacted Xiaomi service by email but I got no solution from it.

Could a phone factory reset wipe the old Mi account information and let me configure the phone again from scratch?
Please can you help me to solve this issue?

Hi Luigi,

yes, a factory reset will delete all your personel stuff, including the Mi credentials. Some years ago I've had a similiar problem and this solved it.
But don't forget to backup your important stuff before
