How To Install Android 6.0 Marshmallow?

Hi guys, its been a while since I was tweaking anything with my MI4c and I pretty much forgot it all, so Im searching for a quick tip.

I have Android version 5.1.1. LMY47V with MIUI 8.2 by xiaomi eu 6.11.10 beta ROM.

What is the easiest way to install Android 6.0 Marshmallow without losing any data?

How is Android 6.0 Marshmallow working on Mi4c?

EDIT: I can also update it to Nougat. Important is that the Android version is higher than 5

Please explain me in steps, like you would be explaining to a 5 year old

Android 7 on my Xiaomi Mi4c?

You are telling me about 6.12.22 5.1.1. LMY47V, but I need to put Android 6 or higher on my MI4c because I need it for some apps.

Ok, so these are steps:

1. I install new version of TWRP (3.0.2.0.)

2. I transfer 6.1.22. to my phone and upgrade to 6.12.22. via TWRP

3. I boot to 6.12.22.

4. I transfer 7.2.9. to my phone and install it via TWRP

In what point does my bootloader get locked?

Please tell me if I skipped a step of missed something or if the order is wrong.

One more question - I already have TWRP 2.8.7.1. on my Xiaomi Mi4c. What is the easiest way to update TWRP to 3.1.1. version? Can I just install new TWRP image via TWRP?

Since I updated my Xiaomi Mi4c from 5.1.1. LMY47V with MIUI 8.2 by xiaomi eu 6.11.10 beta ROM to MIUI 9 7.10.19., my battery life is a lot shorter. During the night, batery losts 30% and full battery life is maybe around 15 hours, and I dont use it heavily, not even close.

Any suggestions how to improve the battery life?
