High battery usage and slow phone

Hi,

I'm using xiaomi.eu weakly rom long time ago. In the last 3-4 months my phone going slow heats up, and my battery drains quick even if I wipe it and flash the latest ROM. I already buy a new battery but it didn't solve the problem. Battery time bit better but not too much.

It is because the new features slow down my phone? Or I get too much notification (I'm using at least 4 messaging app and 4 mail account)?

Is this normal? If I unlock my phone sometimes it slow as hell.
I really like miui and I don't want to switch. How can I find out why so slow my phone?

I attached a few pics about battery use. Today I'm using Spotify, Gmail, and a little messenger.

Im noticing exactly the same issues. With 4 phones.
2x Mi Mix2
1x Mi A2
1x Mi Mix3

All flashed with the EU rom. Reading other stories on this forum too. Did anyone did a side by side benchmark test?
