Hearing Aids BT can't connect

I have new hearing aids, which have BT streaming built in.
The phone finds them when searching, and successfully pairs with them.
But after pairing the only available connection is through the hearing aid app ("Thrive") and even then only for settings and not media streaming.
When trying to connect, the hearing aids BT symbol (on the phone's devices list) is only BT regular symbol and not hearing aid or headset or anything and nothing happens when clicking on it, it stays grey after pairing.
On the manufacturer site they said it was tested and works well even on inferior phones such as Samsung's Galaxy S20.
The hearing aid supplier said that all previous android users just connected through the BT normally, they see it as headset or even hearing aids symbol.

I tried to change some of the developer BT settings but nothing changed.
Can anyone help?

I know those hearing aids can be tricky to connect, so I think it would make more sense for ask for help from your manufacturer, or a forum dedicated to your hearing aids.

thank you, unfortunately they see all android phones as complicated and focus most of their resource on Apple products.
redmi note 10 pro is on the list of phones which can only stream to the hearing aids by additional (expensive) accessory.
that's why I thought to ask here - to see if anyone else might know a workaround...
