[FONTS] Theme Manager Fonts [UPDATE 4/2]

MIUIFont Archives​



These fonts are packaged to work with the MIUI Theme Manager. There's no flashing necessary, just a hot reboot after the font is applied. Changing your font couldn't be easier.

To install these fonts, just put them in /sdcard/MIUI/theme like all .mtz theme files. When you go to Theme Manager, just toggle the "Edit theme settings" switch to "on" and scroll down to "Fonts". Your new font will be listed there. Just apply it like anything else.


If you're looking for a font that's not here, let me know what you're looking for, and I will expedite the process for your font. Any user submissions are welcome. Please include preview images in the .mtz for the benefit of others.

I think you should have only did 3 styles....there is TOO MANY to choose from! lol! Appreciate the effort and work man, one of the things I missed from the sense roms was the ease of switching fonts and now...piece of cake.
 
3 fonts would have been easy enough, but everyone has different tastes. I'm just trying to accomodate. However, I am thinking of scaling back on the number of variants for each font. Some are just redundant. For instance, one font I packed last night, Goudy Bookletter 1911, has 6 variations; regular, regular light, condensed, condensed condensed, condensed light, and condensed condensed light. I'm probably just gonna post the regular and condensed for that, and be similarly subjective with future updates. If anyone disagrees with this and would like me to include all variants of a font, I will be happy to, but updates may be slower.

i'd love to see sony sketch font in this thread, is it possible please? ;)
 
this doesnt work for me, it restarts my device as it should then on reboot the font is still the same. any ideas?

I believe I have flashed every single one of them! :)

Now, you don't have to mess with Root Explorer or flashable zips to change your font.

This Rom Rocks even harder with your fonts!

Edit: Are you just changing the extension of your font (from XDA, which i already have a ton of) to .mtz . If so, can i just do the same to the ones I have downloaded already?

No. I wish it was that easy. The directory structures are completely different. The folders have to be reorganized, the font files have to be renamed, the theme manager requires an xml file for a description, and I put preview images in the Theme Manager zips.

It's honestly not super hard, but it gets a little tedious. If you want to pack your own fonts, just open one of my zips and check out the directory structure and file names. Make sure your zip has the description.xml and the "fonts" folder. The preview folders are optional.

If you do make one of your own, feel free to share it, if you like. After all, this thread is about sharing and making things as easy for others as possible. Good luck.

This puzzles me, because I've had each and every font in my post on my phone at some time (see Theme Manager previews), so they should all work.

Have you made any modifications to MIUI since you've installed it that might affect the font it uses? Which phone do you have? What are the exact steps you're taking to install them?

If you can think of any other details that might be relevant, please post them. I can't be satisfied until everyone can successfully use the font packs.

If anyone else is having problems, please let me know.

Im using a HTC Desire Z, this is a link to the ROM i'm using... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=871344

i have put them in the theme folder, causing them to show up in the fonts section of the theme manager. when i press on one of the fonts and click apply, it takes a while to apply then reboots. upon reboot, im still stuck with Arial :\

other people using the same ROM have managed to change their fonts and i really cant work out whats going on.

ps. i have noticed alot of people who are posting from the miui-dev.com app, how do i get hold of this app?

I honestly don't know why they wouldn't work. It doesn't look like g4rb4g3 changed anything that would break that. Do you know what the successful people are doing to change their fonts? I'm going to look through the thread a bit, but it's long.

Edit: I saw your posts in the XDA thread. Only thing I can suggest is a clean wipe. Definitely nandroid your current setup in case this doesn't work. From what I've seen, your fonts just never changed regardless of the method you used, and I'm at a loss for advice. Have you tried to replace DroidSans.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf? When you apply my font packs, does your status bar font change?
 
Cheers for the reply. I have tried all methods, the fonts in the status bar don't change either.
Will have to try reflash and wipe. See if it works.
