Fast charge requires special cable?

The original Mi 10 Pro & cable & charger works fine for Fast Charge - as shown with the lock screen animation.

Replacing the USB-C cable with unknown brand (but it certainly came in as original accessory of other phone to our office, probably Samsung) breaks 50 W Fast Charge and the phone seems to use kind of Quick Charge equivalent (lock screen info is different, charging is slower).

USB-C Power Delivery should support up to 100 W with _any_ USB-C cable afaik.

(I will try other cables when I get hold of some.)

Anyone else seen this issue with Fast Charge?

It's not standard USB PD. if you use a usb 3 cable you get "turbo charging" but not the one that shows the percentage (at least with Anker cable), it's a bit slower. Xiaomi must have done something to the cable to identify their cable. Unfortunately I do not have anything to test the cable with.

The cable has to be able to support the current , i use a 4.5 amp cable from joyroom and it charges at full speed, used to use same cable on my oneplus 7pro.
so you just have to find a good cable , preferably 5 amp or more
