For most of us, battery is of concern and for some long days of work and travel even connecting a power-bank is not convenient. I tried flashing LOS, AOSPExtended, MIUI Nougat builds and switched apparently many times within them. I use Maps at times extensively while I am traveling and WhatsApp is the most used. No Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. I use iYTBP for YouTube as I can't even bear my 0.01 kb data being used for ads.
Three days back I thought to roll back to Mashmallow and downloaded the last stable build. The major difference (well, that's my opinion) in the Nougat Stable and Marshmallow Stable build is if you use Maps for the same duration MM consumes far less battery as compared to Nougat or the 8.2/8.3s. I am using the things same way I used to on Nougat builds but the difference is considerable. These are the battery stats for last two days.
Further decided to restrict data access for System Apps.
And Autostart for GMail - Outlook Only (Sorry you WhatsApp!)
AutoBrightness - Off
