Hi.

I'm running the last custom rom that permit to run Xiaomi Photos with it's cloud sync with quality space saver (i do have 1T total used but it's 288 Go with Xiaomi Photos Storage Optimiser).

But now i have more and more apps i can't upgrade since i guess they spotted as Revolut did, that my phone is on custom rom.

What should i do to bypass this check and success upgrade.

Regards

My ROM is the last version that works perfectly with Xiaomi Gallery. Fortunately, I noticed it myself and was able to downgrade. Otherwise, you’re forcing users to rely on Google Photos and lose all gallery synchronization with Xiaomi Cloud without even notifying them. Since this is the last functional ROM with Xiaomi Gallery, there’s no way I'm switching to another one.

So, the question is not whether my ROM is outdated or not. The real question is whether I can still use apps with solutions and fixes, like the one you suggested for the Revolut app. In this case, the issue is that apps detect the phone as rooted and don’t actually check the ROM version. It’s simply about having a ROM they don’t approve of, not its version.

So please stick to the topic and avoid bringing up irrelevant points.

"you’re forcing users", we're not forcing anything on anybody. First of all, using our ROM is your choice, we didn't force-flash our ROM to your device.
Second, Xiaomi discontinued Xiaomi Cloud photo backup for a lot of countries in Europe. That wasn't our doing.

I'm not sure what solutions you're referring to. For the Mi apps, you won't be able to update them from Play Store, as explained here:
As for the third-party apps, I've no idea why you're unable to update them.

You're not in the position to tell a staff member what to do. It's our forum, we make the rules.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
I love your rom and i'm on it for years.

When you say "Second, Xiaomi discontinued Xiaomi Cloud photo backup for a lot of countries in Europe. That wasn't our doing."

They didn't for me. And i don't think it was hard for the dev team to specify it in the changelog instead make me such a surprise. I stick to this version and it has nothing to do with the rooted checks i encounter for apps such Revolut.

OK for Mi Apps. I'll pass. For Revolut, i guess Coinbase and other apps doing same security check now. You can't upgrade on rooted devices with custom rom. I'd like to know if the Revolut app trick (i didn't try yet) would solve the others also.

Thanks to discuss this Valid matter on outdated rom version.

I'm not in Europe and they didn't discontinue for my country either, but our ROMs are primarily targeted for Europe, which means we had no choice but to use the Global Gallery app, where Xiaomi Cloud photo backup support was replaced with Google Photos and Microsoft OneDrive support, both of which work internationally.

Try clearing app data for Google Play Store, then in the list of apps to be updated - tap the update icon for each app individually (not "Update all").
Might just be a Play Store glitch.
