Best camera settings ?

I suppose there are no "best" settings. If you ask a photographer, the camera has to be adjusted every time to suit the situation / image you'd like to take.
I've made a thread in a german forum regarding the Camera and explaining the functions. I'll ask if something like this would be interesting here, i'll do it in english then.
