China Stable MIUI 9 Fastboot and Recovery ROM (9.6.7.0) for Mi Max 3! :)
Did you "format data" within TWRP or just do a full wipe before flashing 8.9.6 xiaomi.eu? "Encryption failed" errors are usually fixed with "format data". That will of course remove the 8.8.9 .zip file from your device so that before you can flash it you must connect to your desktop computer...- KristenVR

OTG Backup
Thank you nuvul. I had read an article on the Xiaomi Global site Mi Max 3 forum called "OTG Backup", but I couldn't see the settings shown in the picture in that article. I will follow your advice and use titanium backup.- KristenVR

OTG Backup
On my Mi Max 3 (8.8.9 xiaomi.eu) under Additional Settings / Backup and Restore I don't see an option for Backup using USB. I have a flash drive connected with an OTG cable. I see the option for "local" backup, and for "MiCloud" backup, but not USB. My phone sees the flash drive I have...- KristenVR

New Missing bluetooth headphone battery icon

change to offical global rom
When you order from tradingshenzen you have choice of China Stable or xiaomi.eu. If you install xiaomi.eu you can flash official Global when released but make sure it is higher version than xiaomi.eu version you are using because of anti-rollback protection. Call problems
Couldn't make any phone calls with 8.8.23 but went back to 8.8.9 and it works. Should I risk 8.8.30? I know it now has anti-rollback.- KristenVR

Flash went wrong i think
In your picture #1 I know it is Chinese but first spot is for Mi Account password and second spot is for connect to wifi. Click second spot and you will see wifi options. Connect to your wifi then hit back arrow at top of screen and now enter Mi Account password on first spot. Worked for me...- KristenVR

Mi Max 3 Hard brick!!!
Why did you roll back? Did you have problems with 8.8.30 on Mi Mix 3? I think I will stay on 8.8.9 because it works good- KristenVR
