I've tried most launchers on the market, including Go. The MIUI launcher is the one I use. Mine looks nothing like iphone btw.

Is there any good reason to download this week's release for sgs2? Has it fixed any bugs?

I'm running 2.7.27 from miuiandroid for sgs2. You will find it if you look for it.

The ROM I use from miuiandroid only has chinese and english.

That's because the s2 is based on the samsung stock firmware and not cm9. I can't see this changing any time soon. There are MIUI roms based on cm9 (i think one is called cMIUI) with which you will get the magnifying glass, but you lose some features of this ROM (tv out, fm radio, general...

None of them have an sgs2 to test with.

What new information do you need? Everything that was said is correct. If you don't trust MIUI, then don't enable sms cloud storage.
