That is not the normal course of events, but 3GPP makes allowance for the SIM and "default networks" to be read if required. The correct sequence is that the "available networks" data to be read firstly from the "last network used" memory location, then the SIM, and finally from the "default...

I am not familiar with all of the Netmonster capabilities, but it should give some idea of the signals. I was looking for the UE Capability Indication message from thr L3 logs - that would indicate if the UE was trying to look for TSCDMA signals at all. On my Mix2 I do not see any sign of...

Stronger signal does not necessarily mean better battery life - in many areas with "strong signal" there is often high interference (both uplink and downlink), which has many negative consequences for device battery usage.

In your test for Redmond Note 4X I would caution against comparing the "out" and "back" routes, despite driving the same physical route. During my work in RF & RAN Optimisation, I see many situations like this caused by incorrect neighbour definitions, particularly with UMTS and it's SIB11 list...

MiMix2 [6/128GB], Weekly ROM 9.1.3 Bug with ANT+ devices. ANT+ Service closes unexpectedly during "Find Device". All ANT+ Services installed and with all permissions. I have Bug report, but cannot attach files for some reason "Choose File" button on the "attach files" page does nothing...

This WILL NOT cause signal loss during handovers. The handover target selections are controlled by the network, specifically the MME and RNC. Also the cell selection and reselection process are also network defined.

It is FORMAT, done from TWRP, you need to acknowledge the action by typing "yes". This will re-format your storage, and it will remove the encryption from the original Chinese ROM, and then you need to download the xiaomi.eu ROM and flash it

You may well need to do "Format" in TWRP, (with the required acknowledgement of "yes" typed in) to remove the encryption from the original China ROM. This will remove any encryption, then you need to re-flash the xiaomi.eu ROM.

What problem? If you don't describe or reference the problem, how can anyone say yes or no.... Even better, try it yourself and contribute your findings to assist others on the forum.

Also remember that you will need to do "format" ( with typed "yes" as confirmation) from TWRP to remove the encryption before you can successfully flash and boot the xiaomi.eu ROM. If you do not, you be stuck in a "bootloop" with the three dots....

If this is the first time to flash the xiaomi.eu ROM, then you need to "FORMAT" (with the typed confirmation of "yes") to remove the encryption - this will wipe everything from the device, then you need to re-install everything, including the xiaomi.eu ROM .zip file. You only need to do this...

The perfect cure for Insomnia As I mentioned in a post on this topic in last week's thread, this should be using the MCC (Mobile Country Code) which is read from SIB 1 from GSM, UMTS or LTE networks as the first part of connection establishment in Idle mode. Taking it off the SIM is not in...

The chances are that nobody (who really cares) has your combination of firmware/device now. I personally have no idea - if the installed and proposed ROM's have the same Android base, you can normally "dirty-flash" without loss of either data or apps (if you do not do an "off-device" backup...
