Not sure if the USB Version of the port in use will impact this, but with other activities using ADB, if a USB 3.0 port is used, there are problems - try with a USB 2.0 port.

On my Mix2, with latest weekly Beta ROM and standard MIUI kernel, NSG (full paid version) works fine on both SIM's.

Do you have the Mi8 device rooted? There was a change several months ago on the App that cause a similar error when the phone is not rooted.

For Mix2 I experience similar issue,vended up needing to delete all the pairing's, change the BT device name in the phone and reboot. Then I was able to re-pair the devices. Audio device was Bose Revolve BT speaker

Then I suggest you find and pay a developer to do it for you - what you get here is free, the "hide notch" is supplied from MIUI developers in China (not done by xiaomi.eu), so go and complain to them, not here.

Note4 MTK is listed as EOL on Page 1 (in the table). It was announced last week that all Android 6 and Android 7.0 devices are now EOL, so no more weekly ROM's.

OTA has never been an incremental update on xiaomi.eu to my knowledge, always the complete ROM - don't ask my why, I don't know.....

Mi5 has been declared "EoL" (End of Life) by China Dev team, so until there is an update from the Global team for Mi5, there will not be any xiaomi.eu updates.

On my Mix2, when both SIM's (or more precisely TxRx1 and TxRx2) are configured for TD-SCDMA, they both lose service. Interestingly, then when I opened Network Signal Guru, it was also set to TD-SCDMA, and also failed to show any activity.
