I always backup to an external device as I don't trust the Internal partitions being overwritten.

Your adb commands should look something like this depending on your TWRP filename. adb reboot bootloader fastboot flash recovery cofface_recovery_mi5s.img fastboot boot cofface_recovery_mi5s.img The last command boots you into TWRP automatically.

Sometimes people have trouble unlocking from vendor ROM's so that's why it's suggested to flash a China or Global Developer ROM for the unlocking process to work. Reason being is that under developer options there is no "OEM unlock" or Mi Unlock Status" http://en.miui.com/thread-482266-1-1.html

Trust me I know what you mean, I used to get 7.5-8.0 hours SOT & now I am lucky to get 4 hours. I have tried this update & the last 7.1.15 & also without any applications installed but unfortunately the problem still exists. I have now reverted back to weekly 6.12.22 where the problem does not...
