I mounted /system partition in TWRP menu leaving out the checkmark for "read only" - did not help since no space has been left on device (see attached log). But this does not make sense since there are several GB left! Or do I have to remount /system using a different partition size?

Meanwhile returned the phone and bought another one from a different shop. Still waiting for refund - PayPal case ongoing. The new one works fine so far using MIUI 5.12.17 Beta from xiaomi.eu.

For me it is similar. When connecting to PC MI Suite does not show anything on the phone and I cannot explore external SD card usign Suite. When using normal Windows Explorer everything works fine. Using 5.12.17 Beta here from xiaomi.eu. What's the problem?

When using updater regardless whether renaming the zip file or not, mobile reboots into recovery showing error, that signature verification failed. So flashing not possible.
