Finally SOLVED :) I completely stripped and wiped my MI8, flashed the original Xiaomi Global ROM (which didn't really work that well due to the Anti Roll Back protection. It booted up and launched MIUI, but then complained about the file system being not encrypted and only offering "reset...

Thanks mate. my problem was caused by one of the sim cards (Vodafone prepaid). A new sim card from a different provider (Dt. Telekom) is now working just fine along with the other one (Telefonica). Hooray :)

... SOLVED ... Sometimes life is so easy :) It was the Vodafone (D2) sim (prepaid) card that caused the problems. Today I received a Dt.Telekom D1 sim card. Now the dual sim operations work like a charm !!! (The other sim card is from Telefonica.)

Did you perform a clean install or a dirty flash?

Any comments/ideas on my (?) dual sim card issues? Am I the only person using two sim cards on Mi 8 ?
