It's hard to wait, you know. :) 2.9.28 was the buggiest & the shittiest MiUI version I have ever seen... then there was some kind of a holiday previous week so we were left with no MiUI... besides that, we are used to get download links even before noon (GMT); now it's already late afternoon...

Friday's release only includes English (and Chinese, of course). The language pack comes the next day and it includes many languages: for 2.9.28/2.9.29, it is here.

My solution was to revert back to 2.8.17, turn the PIN code screen lock off, and then upgrade to 2.8.24. Problem exists when using a PIN code to protect your lock screen, and also when using a password.

The same thing happened also to me. I "downgraded" to .17, turned the PIN protection off, and then upgraded back to .24. I thought it was just some kind of a hiccup during upgrade... but now I can read it's actually not... well, I guess I'm not setting a PIN lock to protect my phone now. :)...

I registered by e-mail. And when I enabled the feature on my phone, I logged in with my e-mail (not the phone number)... but the phone still wanted to send some kind of confirmation SMS.

This happened to me too. Several times. :p I think it's nothing to worry about. :) Turn off your phone (take your battery out and then insert it back in). Boot the phone into Recovery mode. (On SGS2, the shortcut is to hold Volume up + Home + Power key.) From there, do a full wipe and install...

Yep, it's Xiaomi sync!! :mad: I turned it off (deleted account) and my phone stopped sending those countless SMS messages.
