Usually there is no need to format system. Wiping the caches and data is enough, the new rom will overwrite the previous rom files anyway, even if you don't format system. So are you sure that in your case format system is indeed mandatory?

hehe I totally agree about 4.3. Let's have 4.2 first! btw, main feature I'm missing from 4.2 is the ability to add widgets to the lock screen with notifications. The current MIUI lockscreen is not opened for configuration.

Perhaps you should try to report the bug in miui.en forums. But don't hold your breath for a fix. I've reported the Tango application bug (no audio from external speaker), and got no response... I hope you'll be luckier :)

goomanager seems to be compatible with the mi2. Did someone try it? is there a reason why I shouldn't use TWRP with mi2s?

Hello, I prefer using TWRP over CWM. I find it better in all aspects (easy installation, GUI, options, etc.). Is there any known issue with TWRP and mi2s? I'm asking since I see that all references to custom recovery mention CWM and not TWRP. Thanks!
