Hmmm tricky twrp... it continues asking for decription password whenever I open it to flash something, even though I formatted data multiple times. Should I change format to ext4?
edit additional details:
Received phone last week and unlocked BL this weekend. after unlock flashed latest EU...
For me it works. Wipe Dalvik/Cache, Flash ROM, reboot to recovery, Flash Magisk (16.0 = latest stable), reboot to system.
Never failes, as long as you reboot between flashing ROM and Magisk.
@ingbrzy Hmmm on Mi Mix 2 I get offered an OTA (via updater app) for 9.4.12 all of a sudden. Is that safe to update or better let it sit there and wait ?
apply region fix, Themes app fixed.
Link to region fix: http://en.miui.com/thread-1469560-1-1.html
I didn't reflash the device, I just flashed the fix and was able to change the region.
Latest stable for mi mix 2 has a complete Chinese themes app. I flashed from previous weekly to latest stable, formatted data and cleared caches.
Is there something I did wrong or is the app not translated?
I tried setting the phone language to US english and to dutch to no avail.
Update...
Found a working (magnetic) Quick Charge cable:
http://www.baseus.com/product-97
For some reason Oreo has issues with non original cables. Cables must be rated as 3A otherwise they do not work (anymore).
On (my) Mi Mix 2 the quick charge issues still exist. I dirty flashed over 8.1.25, rebooting with cable connected does not fix the issue this time. I will do a clean install and report later.
No further issues so far.
Yes it does work now after dirty reflashing the ROM with TWRP and re-installing and re-configuring both ING apps. I also removed all my old connected devices from the ING website.
@ingbrzy
Reflashed (dirty) ROM and reinstallation of both ING apps fixed login issues and NFC payment. Only issue left for me is the QC issue but that I can life with for now. From catlog I can tell it is checking for QC capability and is returning false for QC and the taskbar Icon without any...
I know and I have, don't worry ;-) . Apparently there was also a slight issue with logging into the ING banking app so I re-installed and activated both and will check first payment and report back.
On Mi Mix 2 I had to Factory reset because the device was slow and I had an FC on network settings. All seems fine now except for not getting to see the quickcharge logo and it is indeed not quickcharging at 721 mA
Hmm this is strange, I didn't even notice but my settings reverted to Default as well and I cannot change them anymore (Mi MIx2).
Will clean flash tomorrow and see what happens. (hopefully this is my own poor practice :) )
I do not use themes other than default by the way
