That is abnormal. Try wakelock detector or BetterBatteryStats to find the culprit but it seems Google play services. Downgrade or upgrade gms or disable specific services belonging to it

17 minutes are too short to get valuable results. However make sure you're under good and stable signal (otherwise it drains battery) and prefer 2g (3g drains a lot) Also check kernel wakelocks referring to msm_hsic_host and radio interface

I know! Always been around 7 hours and 20 minutes. Consider that I have 2g data always on even on wifi, a little more than 60% auto screen brightness and I use it for doing almost everything from telephoning to playing games and surfing Internet. Wajk did a great improvement job here with Krait...
