Camera2 API on Oreo (Miui10) is possible?

https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/camera2-api-on-oreo-miui10-is-possible.44793/page-3#post-454026 Viewfinder is black, but it can take pictures just fine. Intended or not, I don't know. Only for Pie based ROMs. Exactly 10.0.5.0.

Camera2 API on Oreo (Miui10) is possible?

I only use this one: Which is exactly the one I attach, it already does everything required. For the *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* version I use: GCam_Pixel3Mod_1_build.6.1.013

Camera2 API on Oreo (Miui10) is possible?

    # means comment, the corresponding line then is not read by whoever should read build.prop. Do you use any other magisk module or any other hack (e.g.: init.d) that modifies build.prop? It's very easy for them to interfere each other.

Camera2 API on Oreo (Miui10) is possible?

Looks like the magisk module doesn't load somehow, this is what the module should write into build.prop: persist.camera.eis.enable=1 persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1 vendor.camera.aux.packagelist=com.google.android.GoogleCameraWide,com.google.android.GoogleCameraTele,com.android.camera...

Must be something else, bluetooth works fine on me. A logcat might be helpful.

Camera2 API on Oreo (Miui10) is possible?

Just this one, but having the other active is no harm, just useless as this one is already covered. No, I think minimal here refers to everything cramped into single file, no relation to performance or anything like that.

Use this magisk module instead (delete that .txt from the name), it's an amalgamation of many existing modules. At least what you want is covered and working.

Confirmed not working on 8.10.11, so stick to stable if you want it.

Camera quality lower than rom Global

Looks similar to my eyes. In low light (<10 lux) high ISO is used to compensate lighting, noisy image but sharpness and details are retained as much as possible. In 15-20 lux it (still) produces nice looking image that makes HDR looks overexposed. Shutter speed is a bit slow, though. Note thta...

Camera quality lower than rom Global

8.9.6 Not for me, I'll take MIUI 10 ROM for any MIUI 9 one. Only camera is a bit worse, but everything else (especially RAM management) is much better. It does, look for any smartphone that has no OIS, the level of shakiness is waaay worse. It still won't help much in long exposure scenarios...

Camera quality lower than rom Global

Wow! Real HHT finally returns! Hopefully video enhancements (EIS / 60fps / HFR) will be next. Btw, I just realized slow motion has also gone better, at least no more jagged lines.

Camera quality lower than rom Global

Well... I can't say much as there's no single principle to follow as every development team has their own plan, schedule, whatever. But as a developer my self, I can give some insights. Outsiders can only guess, but I think the answer is weekly dev ROM was never considered stable (otherwise...

Camera quality lower than rom Global

For now, always resort to HDR even for sharpness and noise reduction. They still have quite some time before stable release (was it september or october?), but even so just let the devs work. Software development is not a measureable work, only estimateable at best (read: it can be even later...

    Works fine here, sorry.

    Miui 10 8.8.3

Actually, it confirms my previous guess. EIS working but only on pitch and yaw without roll. The difference with OIS only is quite clear. I hope 8.8.10 has the roll as well.

    Miui 10 8.8.3

I'm not sure, but I guess EIS has made a return as well, but only in pitch and yaw, roll is somewhat forgotten. Will retest after a full charge, since EIS won't work with battery under 20%.

    Miui 10 8.7.26

Hint: HDR takes not just higher dynamic range photos, but also sharper ones. Seems like a regression since it happens to multiple devices.

    MIUI 10 8.7.19

Not now, not in this ROM version. But I have no idea how generous Xiaomi would be to this device. At least Mi Max 3 and Redmi Note 5 has 1080p@60fps, while Mi 8 series has 1080p@240fps, 1080p@480fps, 720p@240fps and 720p@480fps. I do hope their this year's focus on camera (along with AI) won't...

    Miui 10 8.7.26

Just installed, will need 3 charge cycles until it settles for battery life. The only noticable improvement I see is the shutter speed used to take front camera selfies. It's faster now so you'll have less chance of getting blurry photos.

    MIUI 10 8.7.19

1080p@60fps is already in Mi Max 3 (confirmed) and Redmi Note 5 (to be confirmed), it should arrive on most phones, at least midrangers. Always upgrade, never a fresh install.
