    Unfortunately that's how I see it too. Only way to maintain safety net will be with stock ROM and a locked bootloader.

    It will only boot to fastboot or recovery after the downgrade from 11.0.4 to 11.0.2 if you use the fastboot_update script from 11.0.2 (I know because I tried it) You can use the 11.0.2 fastboot_first_install_with_data_format script safely and then update to 11.0.4, (as per your most recent...

    Doesn't work for me on 11.0.4 and didn't work on 11.0.2 either. "Currently unavailable for this language" which is set to English US.

    You can downgrade to 11.0.2 but you will need to use the first_install script AND you will lose all your data. Using the update script from 11.0.2 will result in a failure to boot to system.

    Thanks for the reply. On knowing that, I'm tempted to go back to 11.0.2 in order to test and confirm.

    The question outstanding for play store device certification is, did it break in 11.0.4, or did it break due to Google's hardware attestation? Can anyone confirm if 11.0.2 is still showing as a certified device?
