I jumped the gun initially! I just tested 6.4.28 and this latest 6.5.12. and I can confirm that the option "tap home button to go back to home screen" works the same, so its no longer an issue as it was in 6.5.5.

I can confirm that this version of TWRP fixes the touch issue ;). Flashed it via fastboot through adb ;) finally twrp works without an attached mouse :D

I downgraded to 6.4.28 since in 6.5.5. the option "tap home button to go back to hoem screen" works not that well. Meaning the sensitivity of the home button is so low that only after 2nd, 3rd touch you get that function to work.
